Make sense of it.
Bring an unclear request, an unfamiliar situation, or a change of plan. Start with what you know.
An everyday companion. A very human purpose.
Meet NOVA, an AI companion being built for autistic and other neurodivergent adults. Make sense of a situation, find words that fit, and work out a next step—at your pace.
Private beta planned For adults 18+
“Where do I start?”
One situation. One useful next step.
Less figuring it all out alone
Not another list of things you should be doing. A place to untangle what’s happening and decide what feels manageable next.
Bring an unclear request, an unfamiliar situation, or a change of plan. Start with what you know.
Explore a starting phrase for a question, message, or conversation. Change it so it sounds like you.
Look at one practical action, a smaller alternative, or the support you need. You decide what to do.
A little clarity can be a starting point
Sometimes the next step isn’t doing the whole task. It’s finding out what’s expected.
Scripted examples to explain the concept, not a live NOVA chat or a guarantee of a particular response.
For real life. Not an ideal version of it.
A work request. A phone call. A busy morning.
You don’t need a perfectly worded question to begin.
A starting phrase, a clarifying question, or a way to explain what you need—without pretending to be someone else.
Start with one part of an ordinary task. Keep a useful next step with the situation and return when you’re ready.
Illustrative brand imagery, not testimonials or evidence of individual outcomes. Initial beta scope is still being finalized.
More than a one-off answer
NOVA is being designed around situations that continue. Keep the next step connected to what matters, then bring an update when something changes.
Preparing the meeting room
Ask what needs to be ready.
Saving a step is not the same as doing it.
Your update tells NOVA what happened.
Your progress. Not a comparison.
We’re designing progress around your reported experiences: what you tried, what you learned, and what you choose to remember.
Optional milestones. Room for pauses. No perfect streak required.
Illustrative reflections, not quotes from testers or measures of clinical improvement.
Make room for your way
The experience we’re building starts with what you can share. Type a thought, talk it through, or show something you want help understanding.
Input methods are in development. Availability will be confirmed for each beta build. NOVA can misunderstand; check important details and correct it when needed.
Thoughtful by design
Published research and accessibility guidance inform selected design principles. Real-world evaluation of NOVA is a separate, essential next step.
Our design draws on cognitive-accessibility guidance: understandable wording, manageable choices, and room to correct a misunderstanding.
Research on self-determination informs a simple principle: your goals and preferences should guide the support, not the other way around.
NOVA is an AI companion in development, not a therapist, diagnostic tool, or emergency service. It does not replace professional or human support.
Evidence-informed does not mean clinically validated. Studies of other interventions do not establish NOVA’s effectiveness. NOVA has not been clinically validated to treat autism or anxiety, and no particular outcome is promised.
These sources inform selected design decisions. They did not test NOVA and do not endorse the product.
W3C — Making Content Usable for People with Cognitive and Learning Disabilities
Informative accessibility guidance, not clinical evidence or proof of conformance.
NICE CG142 — Autism spectrum disorder in adults: recommendations
Selected principles for individualized and accessible communication, not a treatment authorization.
Nadig and colleagues (2018) — Transition support and self-determination
A small facilitated group study, not an AI companion trial or proof of NOVA outcomes.
Aydin and colleagues (2025; online 2024) — Self-management and daily living skills
A synthesis of other interventions, not validation of NOVA’s implementation.
A few things worth knowing
Clear expectations are part of building something people can trust.
